A 15-year-old girl and SS1 student of Success Impact Academy at Azuiyiokwu, Abakaliki, Miss Jessica Chiamaka Eze was said to have absconded her guardian’s home on Friday night 24th May, 2019 for fear of been disciplined over her alleged disobedience.

Narrating the incident, Mr. Everest Eze Ogbonna, resident of 1 Patrick Odey Street, behind Central Police Station (CPS) in Onuebonyi Inyimagu Izzi and paternal uncle of the girl told Citizens’ Advocate that since the past four months which Miss Jessica was brought from Abuja that her behaviour had been characterized with insubordination and other related acts but following his determination towards assisting the girl’s parent through her, he then resorted in counseling hoping that with time, she would change.

He alleged that upon the girl’s arrival in his home that he had not known peace as she had been in the habit of going contrary to his family rules and regulations ranging from telling lies, stealing money and unseriousness towards her studies, among others.

He said, “In spite of the fact that she offends me regularly but I never laid my hands on her until the fateful night that she ran away.”

Mr. Everest further disclosed that the immediate problem was caused by his curiosity in knowing how she got an Andriod hand set which she normally used for browsing at all nights.

He told us that after the girl was found in possession of the said phone, he alongside his wife tried to find out both its source and genuineness but to his surprise, the girl secretly picked some of her belongings and ran away without either been scolded or beaten by anyone.

Mrs. Everest Eze when contacted on phone told us that it was quite unfortunate that the girl abused the love she had for her by not only disappointing them but also subjected her family to a state of anxiety.

She added that it was based on the regard that she has for the girl’s parents that made her to accommodate and enrolled her in school.

The couple therefore appealed that any member of the public with useful information on the girl’s whereabouts should contact this phone number 08037549377 or report to any nearest police station.
