The General Manager, Ebonyi state Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), Dr. Peter Mbam has declared that the agency will henceforth arrest and prosecute any defaulting Community Project Management Committees (CPMS) found wanting in the project management and implementation in the state.
Dr. Peter Mbam made this disclosure during a two-day training workers for eight community project management committees and 11 vulnerable groups’ management committees, last week.
He observed that their experiences garnered in the course of superintending development projects execution for 106 communities and 11 vulnerable groups over the years indicate that the CPMS have penchant for short changing the communities they represent.
He cited Ikwuator-Idembia community in Ezza North who had left their project uncompleted and he already gave them till end of June this year to complete their projects or face prosecution, and be used as scapegoats for others to learn from.
The manager further directed all the stakeholders in the community to step up measures of supervising the CPMS for transparency and accountability and report any default to the Agency for immediate redress.
Dr. Mbam reiterated the commitment of the Agency in ensuring the speedy completion of micro projects for the development of various communities and charged various project execution committees to shun negative collaboration with service providers to mismanage the project funds.
