Community Reminds Senator of Election Promises

The people of Azuogbagu-Ezza Umuhuali, in Umuhuali community of Ebonyi state, have thanked God for the land slid victory of their P.D.P candidate, Senator Joe Obinna Ogba and Hon. Okey Ali during the last elections in the country.

The people who were full of joy congratulated their illustrious son, Chief Monday Okeh, Emebe Ifego, for his solid support, both morally and financially for PDP candidates thus helping in making them victorious in last general elections.

Briefing the reporter at Onunwankwo and Over-Rail, the Caretaker Chairman of the Ezza Umuhuali Dev. Union, Hon. Godwin Nwanga said that by that overwhelming victory of their senator, it was necessary to remind him of his solid promises during his campaigns in the area.

Hon Nwanga, who is also a staunch PDP member and a onetime councilor under the party, said that the senator apart from contributing money for the restoration of power at the vandalized power line leading to restoration of light in 6 villages of Onunwafor, Azuoffia I and II, Igweledeoha, and Azuegu, and said that without that effort, the entire place would still have been in total blackout till now.

Senator Joe Ogba, also promised to construct a bridge across the Uzuru River from the Nkalagu area to Azuogbagu Ezza to enhance free movements of farm produce.

He also promised to connect Azuzuru area to the national grid from the moribund Nigercem area, to ensure that the citizens of Azuzuru were employed into the Nigercem when it becomes operational through Chief Cletus Ibeto and that the road leading to the area be given a facelift.

Also, in his submission, a PDP chieftain in the area, Hon. Monday Oke who thanked Chief Joe Ogba for giving job to some citizens of the Umuhuali and distributed over 15 motorcycles to the people of Ezza Umuhuali and other things, said that the senator has done what “Napoleon could not do”.

He also appealed to him to at this time, to remember to put some sons and daughters of Umuhuali/Ezza in the scheme of things.

Briefing Citizens’ Advocate reporter, the catechist of B.V.M Onunwafor, and secretary to the Ezza Umuhuali Dev. Union, caretaker committee, Mr. Peter Nwankwo thanked the senator for his contributions, religiously, especially in the building of their gigantic church building at corpus Christi parish Umuhuali and giving some bags of cement and undisclosed sums to the Anglican church and other churches in the area, and promised to purchase car for the would be ordained deacon during his ordination as a Catholic Priest, (Rev. Fr. Francis Ogodo) and other priests from Obegu and Amaezu communities as a part of his propagation of the faith in the society.

Also at the general meeting of the village heads caretaker committee, the group in one voice gave Senator Ogba pass mark and wished him success in his 2nd tenure and appealed passionately to him to bear them in mind for more dividends of democracy.

Highlight was the blessing of Senator Joe Ogba, representing Ebonyi central zone at Abuja for Gods protection and his family at all times.
