Chibuike Aja a 9 year old boy who was shot dead by suspected bandits on February 15th, 2019 around 8 pm at Agaga Ntezi, Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State has been laid to mother earth.
Chibuike, a primary 4 pupil of Ori Primary School, Ntezi, was coming back from Rest House where the mother sell provision when the hoodlums on two motorcycle, 6 in number sighted him in front of his uncle’s gate and shot at him, piercing his lungs.
An unfortunate passerby, one Onyebuchi Awoke, was also hit.
The victims were rushed to Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki (AE-FUNAI) where Chibuike was operated and the bullet was extracted from his lungs but he later gave up the ghost after few days while Onyebuchi survived.
Mrs. Aja Obiageri, mother of the deceased said that the death of her second son is still like a dream to her, pointing out that the suspects are well known in Ntezi community.
She prayed that God of vengeance will fight the killers of her son.
Barr. Okechukwu Victor, on his part, decried the ugly act of the ‘happy trigger’ youths and called on the police to fish out the fleeing suspects who shot the little innocent boy.
He said the police have arrested one of them. They are all from Ntezi community, they are all known and police is investigating the matter, the other five suspects are still on the run.
He said, “I appeal to the police to ensure that the culprits are brought to book because if something like this happens and nothing was done, it will look as if no one is safe.”
Pastor Onyemeri of Bread of Life church in his sermon challenged Ntezi people to stop worshipping people who have money and serve God. He lamented that quest for money has made Ntezi people to be the highest crime community in Ebonyi state.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Ebonyi state command, DSP Odah Loveth, when contacted, confirmed that one Olu Solomon has been arrested, arraigned and remanded in prison while police hunt for the fleeing suspects who are Solomon’s accomplices. She appealed to the community to help police with useful information that will lead to their arrest.Follow us
