By Lucy Anyim

During the flag-off of the 2019 Women August meeting organized for Ebonyi Central Zone at Ezza North Local Government Headquarters, Ebiaji, the wife of the Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs. Rachel Ogonna Umahi has enjoined women to raise their children well to enable them to become responsible citizens.

Mrs. Umahi who noted that proper upbringing of children and positive attitude towards self enhances growth and development encouraged women to do the needful in order to eat the fruit of their labor.

While she described security as every body’s business, she advised women to respect their husbands as well as promote peace in their respective domains.

She said, “What will attract you to God or to man is your character and your conduct. Be of good conduct and don’t insult your husbands. God will console you with your children. Dress well. Don’t wait until you get expensive cloth before you dress well. Confidence is not in your cloth”.

The Governor’s wife enjoined them to observe personal environmental hygiene and always go for a medical check-up to avoid sudden death. She urged them to report cases of spousal battering and other harmful practices against women and children so as to punish the offenders.
