Citizens’ Advocate reliably gathered that in January last year, a transformer was donated to the community, but due to financial constraint of the residents, they were not able to install it until recently when through divine providence, a villager, Mr. Igum Onyekachi came up with the project of installing it on behalf of the people.

He also said that even after the transformer was donated by the senator representing the area, the residents were financially handicapped to install the transformer, but through divine providence, one of the villagers, Mr. Onyekachi Igum volunteered to take up the project of installation on behalf of the community.

Mr. Nwuzor said that his gratitude and appreciation goes to Dr Sam Egwu who saved the community from being in darkness and also to Mr. Igum.

Installs Transformer

According to Mr. Igum Onyekachi, he said that his joy knew no bound to have the kind of opportunity given to him to speak to the audience. He said for over three years, the people of Ogbuchia Amachi have never experienced light, until now that the transformer was given to them.

He also said that he will ensure that he will collaborate with the youth and will finish the work before the end of December 2019.

He also expressed his appreciation to God almighty for giving them this opportunity once again, and also to the youth president, the councilor and the entire villagers including the head for supporting him to execute the project.

According to him, the work commenced on 2nd November 2019.

The Secretary, Ogbuchia Youth Association (OYA), Mr. Mbam Ogobuchi Emmanuel said that he is very happy about the transformer installation because the previous ones they had in their neighbouring village had been vandalized twice after that, the vandals took away everything that was installed there because the place was not secured

Because of that, they decided to install it infront of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ogbuchia Amachi, where the security would be tight.

He also added that for the past three years, they have not witnessed light and with the light, the community will be more developed automatically.

Mbam further said that the cost of the transformer installation was N1.8 million and it is sponsored by Mr. Igum Onyekachi.

He said that the villagers became scared after hearing the huge amount of money for the installation; they cannot put such amount to the light because they are afraid the leaders might swallow up the money and they will end up not having light.

That was why Mr. Igum decided to volunteer in collaboration with the youth and after the installation and everything the villagers will then balance him.

The youth president, Adoru Chidi Kevin said that he is really glad over the installation of the new transformer.

He also said that his gratitude goes to Mr. Igum for devoting his time and money to ensure there is development in the community.

Mr. Ogali Chidi said that he is very happy about the transformer installation, that for 3 years, they have stayed without light in the community.

Chidi appreciated Mr. Igum for the wonderful service he has rendered to the community and prayed for more grace and glory of God upon him.
