Coordinator Celebrates Christmas with Widows/Stakeholders

The Coordinator of the Ishielu West Development Centre, Hon. Victor Nnoke, on the 2nd January 2020 celebrated Christmas and the New Year with widows, stakeholders and others in the Development Centre.

The coordinator, who gave two bags or rice to each of the stakeholders across the board, gave widows, widowers and vulnerable children a bag of rice each with undisclosed amounts of money.

Hon. Nnoke said that he was doing so in line with policies and programs of the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi.

He also said he did it to sympathize with the less privileged, to enable them to enjoy the season with others as well. He appealed to another well to do members of the society to always assist the downtrodden in the society to better their lives.

Hon. Nnoke further stated that the rice was meant for the Development Centre areas like, Nkalagu and Umuhuali and assured that he would monitor the distribution to avoid discrimination in the process.

He enjoined the recipients and the people of the Development Centre to reciprocate his Excellency’s kind gestures by praying for him and his administration to thrive and support his policies and programs at all times, adding that many more dividends of democracy and loyalty would get to them.

Reacting to the gesture, a beneficiary, Mr. Onyebuchi Ali, who thanked the Governor for turning the lives of rural dwellers, especially the less privileged also thanked the coordinator for executing project evenly and assured that they would always throw their weight behind him at all times.

Also, in her own appreciation, another beneficiary from Nkalagu, Mrs. Cecilia Odo, with joy prayed to God to grant the Governor and the Coordinator and families many more years of active service to humanity.

Another beneficiary from Ezza Umuhuali, Mr. Emma Omena said that he was happy for the gesture and assured that they would always harken to orders of the governments, especially at the grassroots at all times.

In an interview with Citizens’ Advocate reporter, Hon. Victor Nnoke said he has inaugurated vigilante in Umuhuali community to curb the incessant crimes in the area, to enable the citizenry sleep with two eyes closed, he stated that uniforms have been distributed to them for easy identification while at work and charged them to fight raping, kidnapping, cultism and hard drugs in the area.

He said that he was happy that the vigilantes were already at work, adding that he would soon do same in the communities that make up the development centre.

In a vote of thanks, the chairman of the Ezza Umuhuali Development Union caretaker committee, Hon. Godwin Nwanga, thanked Governor Umahi for his magnanimity and generosity and the coordinator for his patriotism, he assured that Umuhuali people would always remain solidly behind them in the programmes and policies.

Highlights of the occasion include the distribution of Rice, money and dances and songs of joy by the beneficiaries.

The new vigilantes were seen in their uniform manning peace during the occasion.
