ard Squabbles: Man Beats Neighbour’s House Help To Death

A young man identified as Ogbonna Daniel aged 28, a native of Asaga in Arochukwu of Abia state have allegedly beaten his next door neighbour’s 11 years old female house help to death.
The suspect residing at Omege area of Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital with the deceased and her guardian was said to have had misunderstanding with the deceased on Saturday the 2nd May, 2020 in connection to where Ukamaka (the deceased) poured dirty water, hence he beat her up till she fainted and died before she could be taken to Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki (AE-FUTHA) for treatments.
Speaking with newsmen, some neighbours who do not want their names in print for security reasons revealed that the suspect who seems to have unresolved grievances with the family also beat up Ukamaka’s pregnant mistress which caused her body pain and bad eye.
They also revealed that the suspect, Mr. Ogbonna have being terrorizing/intimidating people of the area, that yard in particular at every slightest chance at trivial issues such as sharing / payment of EEDC bills.
As at the time of filing this report, remains of Ukamaka the Izzi born deceased house help has been deposited at (AEFUTHA) mortuary, the suspect was under Kpirikpiri divisional police custody, while investigation was on going and he shall be charged to court of competent jurisdiction for prosecution as soon as investigations are over.
In a statement signed by the Police image maker in the state, DSP Loveth Odah for the Commissioner of Police, CP. Awosola Awotinde dated 4th May 2020, she confirmed the incident, stating that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect is a next door neighbour to the deceased family and there was an altercation that the deceased (little Ukamaka) poured unclean water near (Mr. Ogbonna Daniel) the suspect’s apartment, as a result he descended on her, beat her up to the point of coma which led to her death.
The statement reads thus: “On 02/05/2020 at 2:15pm One Peter Nwuzor ‘M’ of Omege Avenue Abakaliki reported at ‘B’ Division Kpirikpiri, that by 9am of the same date his co-tenant at the aforementioned address, One Ogbonna Daniel ‘M’ age 28yrs, a native of Asaga in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State beat up his daughter Ukamaka Nwuzor ‘F’ aged 11yrs to the point of coma”
“Following the report, the Police detectives immediately visited the scene of the incident, the victim was rushed to the Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki (AE-FETHA I) for medical treatment but was later confirmed dead by the medical practitioner on duty.
The corpse was deposited at the same hospital Mortuary for preservation and Autopsy.”

“However the suspect has been arrested and investigation is ongoing after which the suspect would be charged to court.”
“The Commissioner of Police Ebonyi State CP. Awosola Awotinde mourns and commiserates with the deceased family and the general public, he prays that the Lord Almighty will grant the little Ukamaka’s loved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
“He equally wishes to use this medium to advise the general public to desist from unnecessary anger instead embrace peaceful resolution especially in this trying moment of COVID-19 pandemic.”
He reassured them of the command’s commitment to ensure the safety and security of the residents in the State.
