Ebonyi Gas Retailers Inaugurates Executive

Ebonyi State Government on Wednesday inaugurated the executive of group known as Liquefied petroleum gas retailers association, Ebonyi State branch.
The executive which is the first in the union, will serve as caretaker executive before full election will be conducted.
The caretaker committee executive include; Ani Jude Chukwemeka- chairman, Nkwo Onyekachi Samuel Vice Chairman, Itumo Felix Ogbonna , secretary general, Ekene Ogodo Assistant secretary, Amechi Nweke Stephen Treasurer, Osuogwu Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Fin Secretary, Nwambe James Chukwuma provost, Ezeugwu Charles Chidiebere Director of social, Ukachi Uchenna Michael PRO 1 , Uguru Kelechi PRO 2, Eke Kingsley Chibuike PIO, Enya Michael Nwachi Petron, Nwachi Idume, Chief Tax force.
While setting up the executive, Senior Special Assistant on petroleum and oil to governor David Umahi on solid mineral, Mr. Oyiba Bassi Chima said the inauguration followed approval by the state government and urged the union to maintain the laws of the State noting that Government will not accept illegal activities of gas retailers.
“While we inaugurate you today, you have to establish local government branches of this association and tell them to make sure they adhere to our safety rules.”
“And those people selling close to restaurants, close to where people are living , we are not going to allow that because Ebonyians are all important to us.
“If you are selling retail gas, go and join the association”. He said.
Representative of state fire service and the Divisional police officer ‘C’ division, John John in their remarks, advised the gas retailers to maintain 15 meters distance from the road while setting up their business.
Adding that every member should have protective kits and approved fire extinguisher in his shop.
The security chiefs while assuring them of full partnership further call on union to always organize training on safety for their members.
In an address, the caretaker chairman, Ani Jude Chukwemeka, said the union will stand unique among others by making LPGAR NUPENG meet the standard Ebonyi users desire and maintain equality product.
Ani said the union is working round the clock to ensure that their members follows the lay down rules consequently, between 5th November, 2019 till date, 40 gas retailing outlets have been marked to relocate for failing to meet DPR standard within the state capital.
He appealed to other market Union and NGOs to carry LPGAR-NUPENG along in meetings, and on Government activities.
