A 42 years old secondary school teacher, one Mr. Samuel Aleke has been found dead in his car booth along Nkwagu axis of Abakaliki/Afikpo express road in the state capital.
The deceased who is a computer Engineer by profession and a younger brother to the member representing Ebonyi North West, Hon Victor Aleke in Ebonyi House of Assembly was said to have left his house in the evening of Saturday 23rd of May 2020 and was not seen until Sunday the 24th May inside the booth of his car dead.
The deceased who resides along Chinedu Ogah avenue in Abakaliki has wounds on his face and back when found which suggests that he might have been beaten and strangled to death by unknown assailants.
A source who spoke on grounds of anonymity said that the gentle teacher had informed the wife that he was going to collect earpiece from a friend and drove out in his camry car, leaving his pregnant wife and his three children.
Source said the father of three, who was a secondary School teacher at girls high School Azuiyiokwu, was declared missing by his family on Friday but was found stucked inside his car boot along Nkwegu, just immediately after the road safety check point on Saturday.
The source lamented that the wife who is heavily pregnant have been thrown into untold hardship as raising children is not an easy task.
There have been conflicting reports on his movement as some people said he went to refill cooking gas and never returned home while other reports said the young man had traveled to village and when he returned he told the wife that he wanted to go and get an earpiece which he would use to make call and didn’t return home alive.
The family earlier thought it was a case of kidnap but after waiting for the whole night, and could not get his call, they moved into search party and his car was sighted along the Nkwegu road near the double lane on Saturday with his body inside the boot.
Presently no one could give account of his death but police is investigating the tragedy source said.
The Police Spokesperson DSP Loveth Odah confirmed the incident, said deceased’s corpse was recovered by the police along Nkwagu axis of the express road.
According to her, the information available reveals that the deceased said he was going to collect earpiece and purchase recharge card.
Odah said that the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the mortuary, adding that investigation is on to apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
She appealed to anyone with useful information about the death of the young man to report to the police.
“On Friday Hon. Victor Aleke, reported that the younger brother was missing that he left home to go and collect something, eye phone to make call and didn’t return.
“Police had commenced investigation when Saturday evening, call came in that they sighted the vehicle around Nkwegu and he was squeezed inside the car boot. His head was swollen but no mark of gunshot or matchet cuts.”
On his part ,the lawmaker Victor Aleke, while confirming the death of his late brother said the 42 years old was found lifeless inside his own vehicle.
He said, “My brother was nabbed around 7pm and nobody communicated him although nobody knew he had issue with anybody and it was around 1am that his wife called me that she couldn’t get him on phone late hour on Sunday afternoon we saw his lifeless body inside his own car.
