Police Save Child Abductors, Keke Rider From Mob

Three persons, Mr. David Nwite, 20, Miss Esther Onwe, 18 and their tricycle operator, Mr. Andrew Oroke accused of seizing 9 months old child, Master Chizaram Nnaluo under gun point on Sunday afternoon 24th May, 2020 were rescued by members of Nigeria Police Force “C” Division Ekumenyi from being beaten to death after their failed kidnapped mission in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

The victim’s mother, Mrs Cordelia Nnaluo told Citizens’ Advocate that immediately after she had returned from church service on the fateful day, Mr. Nwite, Miss Esther and another person simply identified as Mr. Uche who is still on the run stormed her residence at Aniekwena Street and snatched her son.
She disclosed that after she and her husband had resisted the evil plan, the people scared them with sparodic shooting inside their compound and immediately boarded a standby keke and zoomed off but Mr. Nnaluo being a fearless man followed the rogues bumber to bumber until he knocked them down at Ogoja Road.

According to the woman, after the abductors had been caught and her baby rescued, the irate youths who had already beaten the accused persons blue-black, wanted to set them ablaze but for rapid intervention of the officers, they were saved amidst degree of injuries.
The mother narrated, “I was in our compound when the three boys came in with a girl and asked me, if I could identify the lady in their midst, having realized that I have seen her up to three times in my shop, I answered them yes.”
“Immediately, they claimed that Master Chizaram is a twin, I became bored over the false allegation and engaged them in an argument and while we were trying to slug it out verbally, they forcefully collected him from my first son’s arm and ran into their keke.”

“With the development, I nearly ran mad and started calling for help while running after them but when the hoodlums saw our persistence, they opened fire to scare everyone.”
“Lucky enough, my husband brought his bus and pursued them to far away Ogoja Road where he eventually knocked them down” she said.
One of the accused persons, Miss Esther while in the hands of some youths admitted to have been in the woman’s shop severally to monitor her movement and also disclosed that the keke man was lured into the crime after the gang members had engaged his service and introduced themselves as soldiers who were going for an official assignment.
The tricycle operator, Mr Andrew, told us that he was into his lawful business before the people contracted him at Mammy Market and after he had seen their modus operandi at Aniekwena and wanted to run, he was warned to comply or face elimination by the gang leader, Mr Uche.
He added that he had only operated the tricycle which he bought on hire purchase for three months before the incident and also appreciated police effort for saving his life.
Police Pubic Relations Officer, DSP Loveth Odah when contacted confirmed the report and added that the suspects were saved by the security personnel from “C” Division.
“It is amazing that hoodlums can abduct a child with gun unlike before that they did target stray children” she said.
She disclosed that the police are already investigating and making effort to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
