Covid 19: Ebonyi House of Assembly Commission Prays For Umahi’s Quick Recovery

By Agnes Nworie
The Ebonyi state House of Assembly Service Commission has embarked on a 10-day fasting and prayer session for quick recovery of the state Governor Chief David Umahi and many other covid 19 patients in the state and nation in general.

Speaking shortly after commencement of the prayer summit at the assembly complex Nkaliki, chairman of the Commission, Deaconess Roseline Obasi-Nwode expressed regret that despite all efforts to curb the dreaded virus by the state government, it has continued rising its ugly head even to the extent of infecting the state Governor.
Mrs. Obasi-Nwode maintained that the likes of Engr. David Umahi should not have been affected as he has done everything humanly possible to prevent the virus from gaining access into the state but unfortunately when it did, it affected the real fighter and this made it worthy to seek the face of God for speedy healing.
She opined that the Governor needed the prayers most especially at this trying period as the pandemic has become a huge distraction to the developmental process in the state.
Deaconess Obasi Nwode expressed optimism that the prayer summit will definitely bring about divine intervention for healing of the Governor and all those that have tested positive to the virus as in the case of biblical Aaron directed to mould serpent for healing of Israelites.
On his part, Secretary of the Commission, Mr. Luis Uguru said that no reasonable child would be glad to see his father lying ill without doing everything humanly possible to make him well and as Governor Umahi is the father of all Ebonyi people, nothing is too much to be done to ensure he is healed.
The members and staff of Ebonyi State House of Assembly Service Commission including Hon. Nkama Nkama Ude, Barr. Leonard Alegu, Mrs. Chinyere Nwogbaga and Clerk of the State House of Assembly, Mrs. Patricia Anasi all highlighted the importance of the prayer summit and the well being of the Governor who according to them has done all needed to be done to re-write the history of Ebonyi people.
Earlier in his sermon, the pastor in-charge of the Assembly chapel, Pastor Francis Igwe said that in situation like this when situations of life surpasses human knowledge and control, it is only God who can give adequate solution, hence the prayer is a round peg in a round whole.
