NDLEA Declares War Against Drug Abuse, Trafficking In Ebonyi

In order to forestall the menace of drug abuse and trafficking, the Ebonyi state command of Nigeria Drug Law and Enforcement Agency NDLEA) has reiterated its stand and commitment in fighting against the unlawful abuse of drugs by youths.
Speaking to newsmen in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital, the principal staff officer in the command, Chief superintendent Aliu Umama attributed the unlawful abuse of drugs by Nigeria youths as poor knowledge of its effect and expressed dissatisfaction on how youths indulged in the abuse of drugs and trafficking which cannot do any good than harm instead of struggling for survival especially in this critical time.
He hinted that since January this year, his men have arrested 110 suspects involving 93 males and 17 females and have as well ceased drugs of 281.189 kilogram including cannabis, cocaine, sativa among others.
He called on the other security agencies in the state to queue in the fight to get rid of the cankerworm in the society.
He advised youths to shun the abuse of drugs and engage in meaningful ventures, that anybody caught henceforth would be made to face the full weight of the law to serve as deterrent to others.
