The pastor in charge of Armour of God Salvation ministry, Owutu Edda in Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi state has been arrested by Nigeria police for allegedly raping a little girl, daughter of his church interpreter.
The middle aged man, Pastor Friday Ezeh who is currently under police custody was said to have raped the minor (name withheld) earlier this year and threatened to kill her if she utters any word about what transpired.

Speaking with newsmen, chairperson of International federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Ebonyi state chapter, Barr Mrs. Grace Iheanacho-Chima said it was reported to her office that when the 10-year old girl finally gave a hint of her encounter with the pastor, her siblings and some angry area boys trooped to the pastor’s house, having met his absence they destroyed some of his belongings.
According to her, pastor Friday effected arrest, prosecution and conviction of the victim’s mother for three months for malicious damage because she is poor, without any one saying anything about the rape incident.
However, Barr Mrs. Iheanacho-Chima admonished mothers to devote more time for proper care and upbringing of their children to reduce the rate if not totally eradicate the recent indiscriminate sexual assaults on their children.
The FIDA chairperson urged all especially indigent women and children to report any infringement on their rights, assuring that her office shall carryout the litigation up to a logical conclusion free of charge.
Responding during press visit alongside FIDA executives to the police divisional office, the suspect pastor Friday Ezeh pleaded not guilty and disclosed that the victim’s family just want to tarnish his image following power tussle recently experienced in the church because he ordered slight reshuffle of positions.
