Two deacons have been ordained as Catholic priests by the Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza with a task on them to be truthful, humble, love and good example of God.

The Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Bishop Dami Mamza made the call during the ordination of deacons Paulus Barade and Clifford Onyedikachi held at Saint Theresa Cathedral Jimeta Yola.

Bishop Dami who congratulated the newly ordained priests for successful completion of their nine years journey of the priesthood, pointing out that priesthood is not a price of the journey but a free gift from God.

The cleric also charged them to give their life for service of God saying priesthood is not for God rather a sign of Gods love and gift for the salvation of the church as they are bound to Christ Jesus during ordination.

He advised the two priests to be transparent, love the holy mass adding that their calling is not a personal fulfillment of the community but a call to ministry and service to humanity.

Bishop Dami further admonished them to do the assigned work in the image of Christ Jesus as no one merits or deserves to be priest but a free gift from God.

The cleric then appealed to the congregation or lay faithful to always support their priests with prayers as prayers is the only way of sustaining all priests.

The ordination ceremony had in attendance the Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, Bishop Yohanna and many priests in the diocese of Yola.

Highlight of the event was presentation of two vehicles to the two newly ordained priests: Reverend Father Paulus Barade and Clifford Onyedikachi by Bishop Dami Mamza to facilitate their work in their various parishes.
