Storm over Father Mbaka

By Madonna Nwani

Enugu metropolis was in turmoil on Wednesday following the seeming disappearance of the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu. Rumour mill went agog that he had been kidnapped

He was billed to hold his usual Wednesday adoration/ministrations but was seemingly no where in sight. When rumours filtered in that he had been “kidnapped” by the DSS, all hell was let loose until midday when he suddenly emerged in an open van, acknowledging cheers from his adherents.

The Catholic clergy later addressed the press where he laid to rest the speculation about his being whisked away by the Department of State Security, DSS.

The fiery priest unveiled that he was invited by his superior, the Bishop of Enugu Diocese who ordered him to suspend adoration for the next one month.

His plea to have another priest sent to conduct the adoration, at least for the day, fell on deaf ears.

He also alleged that he was aware of a plan to send him to Rome upon the expiration of the one month, ostensibly to remove him from harm’s way, following his recent volte-face in relation to President Muhammadu Buhari and positive disposition towards Nnamdi Kanu and his Biafra agitation.

His supporters who rather perceived an effort to gag him, kowtowing to Presidency, instantly surged to Holy Ghost Cathedral in protest.

An eye witness told Citizens Advocate that some sections of the pastoral center and Cathedral parish were damaged during the protest
