The Ebonyi State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says it has recovered a stolen vehicle.
The State commandant, Lucy Samu made this public last week.
Speaking through her Public Relations Officer Emmanuel Uneke, Commandant Samu said the car was seemingly abandoned along Idembia-Ugwulangwu road and was recovered by the operatives of the command.
“This is our latest breakthrough in our quest to combat crime in the state,” she said, adding that, “our patrol team on surveillance stumbled upon a dark red coloured Camry car with Lagos State registration number JJJ 465…, seemingly abandoned along Idembia-Ugwulangwu Road immediately after Orie Udu Market, Okofia Idembia, in Ezza South Local Government Area of the State.
“Investigation revealed that the car has been abandoned for close to five months with everything in it very intact except for the booth that was open”
She therefore called on members of the public whose car of that description was missing or those with useful information about the owner to get in touch with the State Command of the Corps, for proper identification, proof of ownership and collection.
The commandant equally used the occasion to reiterate her commitment to help the State Governor, Engr. David Umahi reduce crime and criminality to the barest minimum in the State.
