The Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Dami Mamza took to the slums to celebrate his birthday with those who have been displaced by the 2022 flood disaster in Numan L.G.A. of Adamawa State.
The relief materials were funded by MCC’s JDPC/EPRT Project to alleviate the sufferings occasioned by the 2022 Flood Disaster. Goodwill messages were received from UN-OCHA, The Adamawa State Government, ADSEMA, The Bachama Traditional Council and MCC Nigeria. 400 most vulnerable families benefited from the exercise. The communities targeted include Luran, Gamadiyo, Imbru, Zagun, Ngbalang and Bare.
At the end, the following prayer was said for the bishop:
His Excellency, may this day be as special as you. May it radiate with kindness, patience and joy. May your memories be sweet and your plans for the future glow. May you enjoy the company of those who love you and wish you well. His Excellency, may this day be as special as you. You are one in a million, you are a star and a beacon of hope. May God Almighty grant you your heart’s desire.
